A notable feature of the GXL V2 brake system is how the cable runs from the lever to the brake. Unlike most electric scooters where the cable remains exposed down the handlebar and outside the battery tray, the GXL V2's cable passes into the handlebar stem below the cross-bar. There is a short external section around the bar's folding mechanism so as not to let the cable get crimped. Then the cable passes into and through the battery tray.
