The Fire Magic heat shield kit, included with current Echelon and Aurora models and compatible with pre-2011 versions, safeguards control panels from 'backflaming' damage. This occurs when burner ports clog due to insufficient cleaning. Regular annual servicing is recommended. Refer to the owner's manual for detailed instructions.
