Description

• The Main Clutch Spring helps the the clutch shaft to engage and disengage the clutch on most 48cc and 66/80cc motorized bike engine kits
• Installation requires advanced skills; do not attempt to disassemble the motor down to the shaft without professional knowledge. It is locked in by ferrules on the clutch shaft, which is located deep within the motor. Take those off, remove the old spring, install the new, reinstall the ferrules, and reassemble the engine

The main clutch spring is a thick, black compression spring that is located over the clutch shaft between the two 202 main bearings on all 2-stroke bicycle engines. This spring is not to be confused with the thin tension/extension clutch spring sometimes found located on top of the clutch cover on some older make and models. This spring is much larger, thicker and does not compress easily. A near complete disassemble of the gas bike engine may be required to replace this part given its location in the center of the clutch.
